Creating and Deleting Tags

Tags are an alternate way of aggregating People or Requirements, where the Roles or Requirement Types are not suitable.

For example, you may want to create a collection of People based on the years of experience they have. To do this, you can create Tags called 0-2 years exp, 2-5 years exp, etc.

There are two types of Tags:

  • Person Tags
  • Requirement Tags

To view the list of Tags:

You can navigate to the list of People or Requirement Tags using the respective drop-down lists at the top of the page.

To create a new Tag:

Use the add button at the top of the list to create a new Tag. Adding from the Person Tag list will automatically create a Person Tag. The same goes for Requirement Tags.

Once a Tag has been created, the type (Person or Requirement) cannot be changed. If you want to change the type, you will need to delete the old Tag and create a new one from the other list of Tags.

To deactivate a Tag:

You can deactivate a Tag by selecting the edit icon shown below, then changing the status to inactive. You can also do this using the edit button from the individual Tag's page. Once it is inactive, it will be hidden from the main list, but can be found by filtering the results using the more* button. Deactivating a tag is reversible; you can use the edit icon again to restore it to active.

To permanently delete a Tag (admin only):

To delete a Tag, it must first be made inactive. You can use the more button to filter results to inactive or any, then use the bin icon to permanently delete the Tag. All associated data, such as Assignments, will also be permanently deleted. This is not reversible.

*The three options of the  more icon are:

  • Active: This will only show active Tags
  • Inactive: This will only show inactive Tags
  • Any: This will show all Tags, active and inactive.
