Org Units
Org Units allow you to sort People into segments. You can base your Org Units on location, departments, etc, depending on the needs of your organisation.
Some examples of Org Units could be:
- Administration
- Management
- Sales
- Sydney branch
- Perth branch
Org units can also be nested within other org units to create a hierarchical structure e.g. a Head Office org unit could contain the HR, Finance and IT org units, and each of these could contain other org units. The hierarchy can be as deep or as wide as you need to represent your organisation. Click here to learn more.
To view the list of Org Units:
First navigate to the correct page from the People drop-down list.
Org Units and People:
An Org Unit will need to be chosen each time you create a new Person.
Once a Person has been created, Org Units can be added or removed using the Org Unit tab on the individual Person's page. People must have at least one Org Unit at all times, but can have multiple.
To add an Org Unit:
You can use the add button at the top of the list to create a new Org Unit.
To deactivate an Org Unit:
You can deactivate an Org Unit by selecting the edit icon shown below, then changing the status to inactive. You can also do this using the edit button from the individual Org Unit's page. Once it is inactive, it will be hidden from the main list, but can be found by filtering the results using the More* button. Deactivating is reversible, you can use the edit icon again to restore it to active.
To permanently delete an Org Unit (admin only):
To delete an org Unit, it must first be made inactive. You can use the More* button to filter results to inactive or any, then use the bin icon to permanently delete the Org Unit. All associated data. such as Assignments, will also be permanently deleted. This is not reversible.
*The three options of the more icon are:
- Active: This will only show active Org Units
- Inactive: This will only show inactive Org Units
- Any: This will show all Org Units, active and inactive.
